A large part of what we do involves educating boaters, tourists, and locals about the risks that all wildlife face. We believe that education is a powerful tool for us to help protect threatened, endangered, and even healthy populations of marine wildlife. Part of this education is done on the water when we make contact with boats; dock talks aim to educate boaters in marinas even before they get out and onto the water; and educational outreach events such as local fairs or in class activities with youth provide younger people with an awareness of human’s impact on animals and how to decrease that risk.
